Free Dating Advice on How to Date Successfully

I believe that everyone can use a little dating advice from time to time and it certainly can’t hurt if you are armed with more knowledge than not, as dating can be very intimidating. Especially, if it has been a long time since your last date, so I will give you some advice to help you date successfully.

One of the most important rules of dating is to be honest with yourself and the person with whom you are dating. You need to clearly define why you are going on a date. Are you looking for a long term relationship or are you just out to have a good time? The person with whom you are going on the date with has a right to know, just as you have an obligation to yourself, so be honest. Honesty is the main ingredient to successful dating.

First impressions do matter, so try to make a good first impression and always, always, always BE YOURSELF. You are an expert at being you and there is no other person like you on the planet, so take advantage of that. Put your best foot forward, don’t be rude and don’t forget to turn on the charm. Unless, of course you can’t wait for the date to end :-) Do not try to be “cool,” if that is not who you are. There is nothing wrong with being a nerd, for they too possess charm and charisma. Remember, unless this was a blind date there is a reason the other party agreed to the date, so there must be something about you that sparked their interest. Hopefully, it is not just your good looks :-) . Being yourself is the second important ingredient to successful dating.

Do not just date anyone, be somewhat selective. You need to know exactly what you are looking for with regards to a partner and make sure to look for those qualities in the person you plan to date. Ladies, there is no knight in shining armor. “Cinderella,” “The Frog Princess,” and “Sleeping Beauty” are all fairy tales. Gentlemen, don’t expect her to be a perfect ten. You are not a knight in shining armor, so don’t expect her to be perfect. We are humans and humans are incapable of perfection. The bottom line is give each other the respect that you both deserve. Don’t go on your first date having a conversation about controversial issues, save that for when you get to know one another a little better. You went on this date to have fun and enjoy each other’s company, so keep it simple, let loose (don’t go overboard) and enjoy the date. Respect is the last important ingredient to successful dating.

So now you know the secrets to successful dating, be honest, be yourself, and respect each other. Now go have fun.

Good Luck!!
